Rebecca McMahon

Rebecca McMahon is a barrister at Forbes Chambers in Sydney and an adjunct associate professor at the University of NSW. Prior to coming to the Bar she was the principal lawyer of her private law firm. She has also held positions at the Aboriginal Legal Service, NSW Legal Aid Commission and the NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Rebecca was the 2021 recipient of the Terry Keaney Memorial award which recognises dedication to the profession, excellence as a criminal lawyer, commitment to clients and concern for social justice issues. She is also the co-chair and a founding member of the Bugmy Bar Book Project.
