Biography:
Dr Leach has a B Psychological Science (Hons), B Law (Hons) and Doctor of Psychology (Forensic) and is an endorsed Forensic Psychologist. She has worked in assessment, treatment and case management roles with justice-involved young people for the past seventeen years. In addition, Dr Leach has published several well cited studies and specialises in utilising administrative databases to explore forensically relevant issues for youth. Dr Leach is currently working with the Forensic Child and Youth Mental Health Service, Children’s Health Queensland as an Advanced Allied Health Clinician, undertaking research and program evaluation and providing training and supervision to clinicians.
This symposium will discuss the work of KIND – a unique intervention based on the frameworks of restorative justice and adolescent development. KIND works with both the young person using violence and their family/partner, working through 9 modules. KIND is currently being applied across South Australia and Queensland.
